A baby bald eagle, found injured in northern Pennsylvania, is now receiving a second chance at life. The eagle, discovered by a game warden in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Two bullets had pierced her wing, and another had struck her beak. The young bird is currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment at a nonprofit wildlife rescue center located in the Pocono Mountains.
Bald eagles are a protected species in the United States, and harming them is a federal offense. The incident has prompted an investigation to identify the individual responsible for the shooting.
The eagle’s recovery is a testament to the dedication of wildlife rehabilitation specialists. While the extent of her injuries is still being assessed, the hope remains that she will regain her health and be released back into the wild.
