A man from Arleta, Los Angeles, has issued an apology after a video surfaced showing him kicking his dog. The incident, which is now under investigation by Los Angeles Animal Services, has sparked outrage and concern.
The video, which quickly went viral, depicts the man, identified only as Abraham, delivering a forceful kick to the dog’s head. Abraham explained that the incident occurred after his dog attacked one of his pet pigs, resulting in injury.
“My dog has a history of violence,” Abraham stated, adding that the dog had attacked one of the pigs in their backyard, drawing blood. Abraham claims he acted instinctively, saying, “There was only one way for me to stop it. I’m not saying what I did was the right way to discipline him. It was not the right way, and for that, I am sorry. I apologize for that. I know I was in the wrong for that, but my instincts kicked in that… Stop my dog one way or the other. That was the only way I could stop it.”
Following the incident, animal control officials arrived and removed both the pigs and dogs to a nearby shelter. A neighbor expressed concern for the dog’s well-being, stating, “I hope that it gets a new home with someone else that would actually appreciate the animal and give it a life worth living.” The current condition of the dog is unknown, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
