Belleville police urge the public’s assistance in locating a cyclist involved in a hit-and-run that injured a senior pedestrian on Friday evening. The victim, a 65-year-old woman, was walking on the sidewalk near 59 North Front Street when she was struck by the bike around 9:30 p.m. Witnesses described the cyclist as wearing dark clothing and potentially having salt-and-pepper colored hair. Unfortunately, the suspect fled the area, leaving the victim with physical injuries that required transport to Belleville General Hospital. Investigations are ongoing as police appeal for any information or potential witnesses to come forward.
