Delta Launches New Program to Cater to the Evolving Needs of Business Travelers

Delta Air Lines is expanding its support for business travelers with the launch of its new Delta Business Travelers program. This initiative, separate from the SkyMiles for Business program, is designed to cater to all aspects of work-related travel, regardless of company size, with a special focus on remote workers. The Delta Business Traveler program is intended to work in conjunction with existing offerings such as SkyMiles and SkyMiles for Business (formerly SkyBonus). Unlike the current business program, which requires a minimum of five employees and $5,000 in travel spend from organizations, the new program welcomes small business owners, employees at smaller firms, and individual business travelers.

Open to Delta SkyMiles Members who identify as business travelers, including remote workers, startup employees, and independent professionals, the program simplifies enrollment. There’s no need for employer verification. To sign up, users simply log in with their SkyMiles account, answer a few brief questions about their employment, and complete the registration process in a single step.

Benjamin van der Horst, General Manager of Loyalty Partnerships and SMB Strategy at Delta, highlighted the program’s enhanced value proposition for travelers. It is designed to work seamlessly with SkyMiles for Business and the BlueBiz program with transatlantic partners Air France and KLM. The program aims to attract business travelers who may not have corporate arrangements with Delta by offering a variety of enticing perks.

One of the most notable features is the discounted access to Industrious’s global network of over 200 premium workspaces for just $99 per month. This benefit is particularly attractive for freelancers and remote workers seeking to combine business with leisure. Research conducted by Deloitte indicates that one in seven business travelers extended their trips for personal reasons at least three times last year, making this perk a potentially valuable addition.

With these offerings, Delta positions itself as a strong ally for the evolving needs of today’s business travelers. The program’s flexible approach and focus on individual needs underscores Delta’s commitment to meeting the changing demands of the modern business traveler.
