How to Hide the Taskbar in Windows 11
1. Right-click on the taskbar and select “Taskbar settings”.
2. On the “Personalization > Taskbar” window that appears, select “Taskbar behaviors”.
3. Make sure that the box labeled “Automatically hide the taskbar” is ticked.
How to Hide the Taskbar in Windows 10
1. Right-click on the taskbar (it has to be on the taskbar itself, not anywhere on the screen) and select “Taskbar settings” from the resulting menu.
2. On the Settings page that appears, look for the options that say “Automatically hide the taskbar” and “Auto-hide taskbar in tablet mode” (if applicable). Make sure they are both turned on.
Bringing Back the Taskbar
To bring back the taskbar in Windows 11, simply move your mouse to the bottom of the screen. In Windows 10, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Windows key + T.
Tips for Tweaking the Taskbar
Once you’ve hidden the taskbar, you can further customize it by tweaking its settings. For example, you can change the taskbar’s alignment, setting it to the left like in older versions of Windows, or the center, as the Windows 11 default.
