Malaysia Boosts Tourism with Visa-Free Entry for 134 Countries

In a move to foster global connectivity and cultural exchange, Malaysia has announced an expansion of its visa-free policy, offering travelers from 134 countries, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), visa-free entry.

Effective December 1st, 2023, citizens from India and China, along with passport holders from ASEAN member nations, will be able to visit Malaysia visa-free for up to 30 days. Additionally, individuals holding Macao Special Administrative Region Travel Permits can enjoy a 14-day visa-free stay, irrespective of their nationality.

The GCC countries of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE are eligible for a 90-day visa-free stay for tourism or business purposes.

Enhanced Visa-Free Entry for 90 Days

Holders of passports issued by the following jurisdictions are now entitled to visa-free entry into Malaysia for a period of 90 days:

– Schengen Agreement countries (including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Portugal, Czech Republic, and Poland)

– United States

– United Kingdom

This extended visa-free period aims to facilitate easier travel, promote cultural exchange, and attract tourists and business travelers from these key regions.

30-Day Visa-Free Entry for ASEAN and Global Countries

Malaysia also grants 30-day visa-free entry to travelers from numerous countries, including all ASEAN member states (except Myanmar) and many others across the globe. This policy enhances accessibility and fosters international ties, simplifying travel for a broad spectrum of international visitors.

14-Day Visa-Free Entry for Iran, Libya, and Macao Permit Holders

Passport holders from Iran and Libya can now enter Malaysia visa-free for 14 days. Additionally, individuals possessing Macao Special Administrative Region Travel Permits are eligible for a 14-day visa-free stay, regardless of their nationality.
