Muskegon Heights Boil Water Advisory: Bottled Water Available for Residents

Due to a problem at the water-filtration plant, Muskegon Heights has issued a boil water advisory for its residents. As a precautionary measure, residents are urged to boil water before drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or preparing food. The city has linked to Muskegon’s water system to restore water, but residents may experience lower water pressure than normal.

To assist affected residents, bottled water is available for pickup at the Muskegon Heights Farmers Market (2600 Baker St.) from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 25. The water will continue to be available after Thursday if the boil water advisory remains in effect.

Muskegon Heights workers are actively trying to restore normal water pressure and are collecting samples to test for contamination. The city will notify residents when the boil water advisory is lifted once testing confirms the water is safe for consumption.

For the latest updates, residents can visit the city’s Facebook page, call 231-733-8873, or check the city’s website: muskegonheights.us/boil-water-advisory-for-muskegon-heights.
