Saurabh Gaikwad, the son of NCP leader Bandu Gaikwad, has been accused of causing a car crash in Pune. According to reports, Gaikwad rammed his SUV into a poultry tempo, injuring two people. The incident occurred at Z Corner on Manjari-Mundhwa Road in Pune around 5 AM on Tuesday. Police have filed a case against Gaikwad under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicle Act.
The incident comes in the wake of another high-profile car crash in Mumbai. On July 9th, a BMW car driven by Mihir Shah allegedly rammed into a two-wheeler, killing a woman, Kaveri Nakhwa, and injuring her husband. Shah has been remanded in 14-day judicial custody.
These incidents have sparked concerns about road safety in India. Earlier this year, a Porsche car driven by a minor in Pune crashed into two IT professionals, killing them. The lenient bail granted to the minor accused in that case caused nationwide outrage.
These events highlight the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and increased awareness about responsible driving. The families of the victims are seeking justice and demanding accountability from those involved in these reckless acts.
