Amidst recent leadership changes within the Punjab Congress, several local leaders who had previously resigned have now rejoined the party. The leaders, who had quit following the resignation of former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, returned to the party fold at the Punjab Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh. The rejoining ceremony was graced by the presence of the current Punjab Congress Chief, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, and the Leader of Opposition, Partap Singh Bajwa. The leaders expressed their confidence that their return would bolster the party’s strength.
In a separate development, former Punjab Police Additional Director General Gurinder Singh Dhillon joined the Congress in Delhi in the presence of senior party leaders. Dhillon, who recently opted for voluntary retirement from the Punjab Police, joined the Congress ranks alongside his wife. Expressing his commitment to the party, Dhillon stated that he had served his state as a police officer for two decades and now seeks to contribute under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi.
These developments come in the wake of the Congress party announcing the candidature of Amarinder Singh Raja Warring from Ludhiana. Warring, upon receiving the party leadership’s confidence, expressed his readiness for the electoral battle.
The ongoing political dynamics within the Punjab Congress continue to shape the party’s landscape, as leaders navigate the evolving leadership and prepare for upcoming challenges.
