A 45-year-old woman lost her life in a tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district on Tuesday. The victim, identified as Maya Devi, a resident of Bharatpur village, was crossing the road in the morning when a speeding truck, whose driver remains unidentified, struck her, causing her instant death. The incident took a horrifying turn as several other vehicles, unaware of the tragedy, continued to drive over Maya Devi’s body, further mutilating it.
The gruesome scene prompted immediate action from the authorities. The Thariyaon police station’s Station House Officer (SHO), Arvind Kumar Rai, reported the incident. The body parts of the deceased woman were recovered and sent for a postmortem examination. The police have registered a case against the unidentified truck and its driver, marking the beginning of an investigation to bring the responsible party to justice. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety, highlighting the devastating consequences of reckless driving.
