A stunning new mural, titled “Shagi,” has been unveiled at the Port of Toronto Cruise Ship Terminal, celebrating Indigenous culture and the deep connection of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation to the land and waters of Toronto. Created by renowned Anishinabek artist Que Rock, the mural features the Clan of the Cranes, with the majestic Great Blue Heron as its centerpiece. This collaboration between PortsToronto, Chief Claire Sault, and Que Rock exemplifies a shared commitment to recognizing and honoring Indigenous heritage.

magma, an artist unit known for their unique creations using recycled materials, is holding their first major exhibition in seven years at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO. Titled ‘TRICK HEARTS’, the exhibition reinterprets the traditional art form of trick art through magma’s distinctive color palette and unconventional worldview. Abraham Lincoln Wax Statue Melts in Washington D.C. Heatwave

A six-foot-tall wax statue of former US President Abraham Lincoln, installed as part of an art project in Washington D.C., melted during the city’s recent heatwave. The statue, which doubles as a candle, is part of artist Sandy Williams IV’s ‘The Wax Monument Series’ and is meant to symbolize change and the impermanence of monuments. This is not the first time the statue has encountered melting issues, with a previous version melting before its dedication ceremony. The current version, installed in February, features fewer and strategically placed wicks and a plaque advising visitors to extinguish the wick within a short time.
