China Vows Safety for Foreigners after Stabbing of US Instructors

China declared an incident in which four US college instructors were stabbed in Jilin as an isolated event. The instructors, who were in China through a partnership program, were wounded while participating in an exchange program. The motive and identity of the perpetrator(s) are still unknown.
