Mumbai Flooded as Heavy Rains Cause Chaos, Disrupting Life

Mumbai experienced torrential rainfall on Monday, causing widespread flooding, disrupting rail traffic, and forcing school closures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Maharashtra, predicting heavy downpours throughout the day. The city’s lifeline, rail traffic, was significantly disrupted, with several trains cancelled and diverted due to waterlogging. Numerous areas, including Kurla and Andheri, were submerged, showcasing the severity of the situation. The BMC declared a holiday for all schools and colleges due to the extreme weather conditions. Videos from across the city highlighted overflowing drains, waterlogged streets and roads, and submerged railway tracks.

Mumbai on Orange Alert as Heavy Rainfall Expected

The Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai on July 1, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall. The alert comes after several days of intermittent heavy rainfall in the city and surrounding areas. The IMD has also issued orange alerts for other regions in Maharashtra, including Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Satara.

Delhi Braces for More Heavy Rains, Orange Alert Issued

Following a day of intense rainfall, Delhi and surrounding areas are facing an orange alert for heavy rain until July 2. The IMD expects heavier spells on Sunday and Monday, while also reporting the Southwest Monsoon’s advancement into Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the city grapples with the aftermath of Friday’s downpour, including a fatality at Delhi airport and several rain-related deaths.

Heavy Rainfall Forecast for Several Indian States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh, predicting heavy rainfall in these regions on June 27. The alert comes as the IMD forecasts widespread precipitation across India in the coming days, including heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab.

IMD Forecasts Heatwave, Heavy Rains in India

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave to severe heatwave conditions in several parts of the country till June 9. Orange alerts for very heavy rains have been issued in Goa, Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Assam and Meghalaya. The IMD has advised people to take precautions against the heat and avoid outdoor activities during peak hours.

Mumbai Weather Update: Heavy Rain, Orange and Yellow Alerts Issued

After a dust storm on Wednesday, Mumbai, Thane, and Kalyan experienced heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunder and strong winds. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Jalgoan, Nashik, Pune, Kolhapur, and Satara, and a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. Intense wind gusts and thunderstorms are expected, particularly in the evening. A hoarding in Pimpri Chinchwad collapsed onto a mini truck due to strong winds, but no injuries were reported.
