PMK’s Ramadoss Calls for Proper Bus Maintenance in Tamil Nadu

Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss urged the Tamil Nadu government to ensure proper maintenance of buses owned by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). Referring to recent incidents where bus axles broke while carrying passengers, Dr. Ramadoss highlighted the lack of maintenance and inadequate funds to purchase spare parts. He stated that almost 1,500 of TNSTC’s 20,925 buses have exceeded 15 years of operation, while nearly 25% are out of commission due to insufficient funds for repairs. Dr. Ramadoss emphasized the need for allocating adequate funds to transport corporations for bus maintenance.
