Unveiled at Devolver Direct,
The Talos Principle 2: Road to Elysium
expansion is set to embark on a journey of philosophical pondering and brain-bending puzzles on June 14. Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, this $20 DLC unveils three distinct chapters of the android colony’s narrative.Echoing the essence of The Talos Principle 2, Road to Elysium presents three captivating areas: Orpheus Ascending, Isle of the Blessed, and Into The Abyss. Each realm immerses players in its own thematic environment, brimming with fresh puzzle chambers that challenge the boundaries of logic and perception.
In Orpheus Ascending, players will traverse an Egypt-inspired setting, deciphering puzzles centered around lasers. Isle of the Blessed, which we had the privilege to preview, transports players to a tropical paradise, where three sets of puzzles await. The handful of challenges we encountered pushed our cognitive abilities to the brink, requiring careful manipulation of light beams and the strategic positioning of objects on a magnetized wall.
Road to Elysium seamlessly aligns with the core gameplay of The Talos Principle 2. After solving a series of eight chambers, players construct a bridge using tetromino pieces and activate a lighthouse. Throughout the journey, collectible lore fragments delve deeper into the game’s philosophical musings on the nature of art and existence. Each chapter delves into its own unique inquiries while building upon the main game’s narrative and unraveling more mysteries of the enigmatic Megastructure.
Based on the substantial content we experienced in our Isle of the Blessed demo, we estimate that each chapter could take approximately five hours to complete. This generous expansion promises to captivate fans of the series with an abundance of cerebral challenges. The Talos Principle 2: Road to Elysium emerges as a substantial and enticing addition to the award-winning puzzle franchise.
