Acclaimed actor Kamal Haasan, alongside the talented Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal, will embark on a filming journey to the vibrant city of Delhi for Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated pan-India film, “Thug Life.” This extensive 20-day shoot schedule will capture the diverse essence of the capital city, showcasing its iconic landmarks and hidden gems. The production team plans to immerse viewers in the heart of Delhi, with shoots scheduled at the historic Red Fort, the architectural marvel of Qutub Minar, local schools, and the tranquil surroundings of farmhouses. Despite the rising temperatures, the team is fully prepared to face the heat and utilize natural daylight for optimal filming conditions, minimizing night shoots. This much-awaited action-thriller marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, 36 years after their iconic collaboration in the 1987 crime epic “Nayakan.” Haasan has played a pivotal role in co-writing the script with Ratnam. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Trisha, Abhirami, Nassar, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, and Aishwarya Lekshmi. While it remains uncertain if the entire cast will join the Delhi shoot, sources confirm that no action sequences are currently scheduled, with the focus on regular sequences. The official announcement of the film occurred in November 2022 under the tentative title “KH 234,” signifying Haasan’s 234th film as a lead actor, while the official title was unveiled in November 2023. Principal photography commenced in January this year, with sporadic filming in multiple locations, including Chennai. Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman has been entrusted with the task of creating the film’s soundtrack.
